May starts off with Venus, in Taurus, creating a third point to the trine between Saturn in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn. This creates a grand trine in earth which means that we are paving a positive financial foundation somewhere in our lives. Those who choose to worry about money are wasting valuable energy now. Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius are especially blessed with fortunate events at the start of the month.

As the month progresses Mercury, Jupiter, and Neptune all turn retrograde. Get your stuff started as soon as possible because as the days of our lives pass; the sands of the hour glass get more and more confused.

Mercury moves into Gemini on May 2. Mercury rules Gemini so this gives us extra energy for planning all sorts of details. Just as Mercury enters Gemini he forms a square to Saturn on May 3. This bodes for bad news or situations that show us something is not going well. Gemini is the sign of ‘The Twins’ which means we will be looking at more than one side to any issue or situation. This goes particularly well for air signs Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces, though, will not experience such an easy time with details or getting a point across.

Communication challenges become troublesome for most of us once Mercury goes retrograde May 26 through June 19 in Gemini. While Mercury is retrograde delay plans for travel or buying anything with moving parts. In addition, postpone starting anything new until after this retrograde period. May 2 is a busy day of shifting gears as Saturn, retrograde in Virgo since last Dec. 19, goes direct. Saturn has had us re-evaluating systems that we put into place last Sept. 2 through Dec.19. Virgos especially, but also Geminis, Sagittarians, and Pisces, now move forward with redesigning their lives. Some will move, others will get new jobs, while others will a take a completely new life direction . Once Saturn does move forward we can expect a shift in the current political race as new facts come to light regarding the candidates.

Jupiter, moving through Capricorn, turns retrograde May 9 until September 7. Jupiter retrograde in Capricorn provides time for our practical selves to take over so that we can catch our breath and test what we have put into motion.since Jupiter went direct last August. Many of us will have to contend with bureaucratic baloney and chains of command that are stifling. Since Jupiter rules Sagittarius and is retrograde in Capricorn; these two signs are most affected. As we get closer to the first week of September some of us will feel pessimistic, but then poof; Jupiter goes direct and all becomes optimistic once again.

Since March we have been feeling the underlying current of Jupiter sextile Uranus. We continue to feel this influence through the end of June, but the aspect is exact May 21. Neptune turns retrograde May 26 to November 2. As the month progresses toward the 26th confusion becomes the norm. Slow down when this occurs and hold off making decisions. While Neptune is retrograde until November; we are drawn to dig deeper into our dreams to understand their symbolism. Our ability to focus on someone else’s problems is easy, but when it comes to ourselves we must be still and listen for divine direction.

May 5 The New Moon occurs in Taurus at 7:18 am CDT. This begins a period for starting situations and projects. Initiate strategies devoted to making financial plans in the days until the Full Moon May 19.

May 9 Mars moves into Leo until July 1. While assertive Mars transits expressive Leo we have the nerve to take valiant actions. Some people will not be amused by our charm and verve.
