September opens with the Sun crossing Saturn in Virgo on the 3rd. Saturn rules restrictions and obligations. The Sun is shining his light on what we need to accomplish or correct. Do what you have to do all the while knowing that by the 4th all will seem brighter when the Sun angles Jupiter. One good way to use this challenging aspect is to begin a project that requires discipline and you are sure to succeed.

Just as Jupiter goes direct on the 7th; Mars and Mercury square this lucky planet. Many of us are chomping at the bit to make plans and start tasks. Our enthusiasm is infectious, but many of us will be fueled by fantasy. Consider the practical details of any situation and then charge forward with the proper tools.

Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, has been retrograde in Capricorn since May 9. This has put expansion and good luck on the back burner for many of us. Sagittarius has not been their bright shiny selves and many have most likely felt down right depressed. Likewise, Capricorn and the business they wish to accomplish are both slow to react. Pluto, retrograde since April 2nd, goes direct September 8. Pluto had moved into Capricorn January 25th for the first time in 240 years. While Pluto was retrograde he backed into Sagittarius and is now finishing his twelve year transit of this sign. Sagittarius, and all the rest of us, who are born in the later degrees of any sign are getting one last dose of death and rebirth. The process may be tough, but once we have experienced the toughness of Pluto we are usually better than before. Once Pluto enters Capricorn on November 26, 2008; this planet will not reenter Sagittarius for another 267 years.

Mercury, transiting Libra, goes retrograde September 24 to October 15. While Mercury is retrograde in Libra; all are wise to avoid initiating legal matters or partnerships. Mercury retrograde mostly affects Libra and Mercury ruled Virgo and Gemini. All are warned against starting new projects or situations. Jupiter trine Saturn is in effect, but you must get your stuff started before or after the retrograde time period. Venus is conjunct Mars in Libra. This sexy and exciting combination has Libra, Gemini, and Aquarius ready to get out and mingle. Libra rules balance and fairness. We will all have a sense of doing the right thing. Relationships that begin today are sure to be fun, but most likely the fun will fade fast.  The full Moon occurs in Pisces 4:13 am CDT. The full Moon is the peak of the lunar cycle. This full Moon is known as the Harvest Moon because there is more light between the sunset and moonrise so that workers have more time in the light to work. According to Norse mythology this is one of the most blessed Moons. For us this full Moon in Pisces creates imagination and a sense of compassion especially for Pisces, Cancer, and Scorpio.
