October 2008 Horoscopes

AFTER READING THE INTRODUCTION SCROLL DOWN FOR YOUR PERSONAL HOROSCOPE

The full Moon September 15 which was closely conjunct Uranus in water sign Pisces and thirty degrees from Neptune in air sign Aquarius proved to be full of surprises, especially for the dear readers on the Gulf coast. Since the full Moon was in the water sign Pisces; many of us were surprised and shocked (Uranus) to have our lives turned upside down by so much water and wind (Aquarius). It is my sincere wish that those of you who were affected by the storm are able to put your lives back together and that you may move forward with grace. My thoughts are with you all and I hope that each day you can come closer the contentment you once enjoyed.

October opens with Mercury retrograde in Libra through the 15th. When Mercury is retrograde life seems to be put on hold. Since Libra rules relationships and business contracts we will all be evaluating business affairs and associations of all sorts. Virgo and Gemini are both ruled by Mercury so they are most susceptible to the tricks Mercury will play on us. Schedules are sure to be disrupted and many of us will be reduced to “he said she said” situations. Try to go with the flow. The flow is changing constantly. Finish projects and wait until after the 15th to purchase anything that has moving parts.

During the first five days of the month Mars, in Libra, is sextile Pluto in Sagittarius. Remember that Pluto is in the final days of his twelve year transit through Sagittarius. Many of us are coming to some sort of a closeout. Mars gives us one last push to alter our way of being. For some this push will be a surprise so stay cognizant of your surroundings. Remain willing to do what it takes to achieve success especially if you are Libra or Sagittarius.

Throughout the month Saturn and Uranus are opposite one another. Uranus is innovation and chaos while Saturn is the status quo. This opposition brings up the battle of new versus old. The affects of this influence are already evident including the current political race, the energy dilemma, and the credit crisis. Somewhere in all our lives we will be learning to reconcile new ideas with our old ways of thinking and living. Stops and starts will be abundant as we trip over both emerging ideas and our former ways of being.

Jupiter is trine Saturn and that helps us with the practical side of life. This is a terrific aspect for business matters and contracts that lasts into December. It will compel some of us to behave parentally and warn others to stay on the path. However, Jupiter is also sextile Uranus offering opportunities to make great strides toward independence. The push and pull between what we perceive to be new or old and good and bad will be constantly dividing us.

During the week of October 26 Mars is first sextile Jupiter and Saturn and then trine Uranus. Mars will also be halfway between the nodes of the Moon. Mars and Jupiter put us on the fast track to success while Mars and Saturn afford us the focus to work steady. Mars and Uranus promote excitement and still more innovation. The latter days of October are intense ones for Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus, and Leo. Many of us can accomplish big dreams or get caught in petty squabbles. Keep your fingers on the pulse of all financial matters. The ride will be full of bumps and responsibilities will be heavy as October comes to a close. These times they are a changing.

Additionally, Mercury will be trine Neptune during the last week. We will all have our version of what is ideal. The best course of action is to acknowledge opponents’ ideas, but to be sure everyone has the straight facts.

October 3 Mars enters Scorpio until November 16. Mars packs an extra punch in this sign. Talk of the public use of taxes and our incomes are sure to be in the news. Many of us will be concerned with the state of the national debt. Scorpio is highly energized through this time and can accomplish a lot or just be irritated. Fellow fire signs Leo and Aquarius are stressed especially in late October. Taurus is sure to have someone yell at them and dismiss Taurus plans. Those happenings bring Taurus to new conclusions about their life direction.

October 5 Venus, in Scorpio, is sixty degrees from Jupiter in Capricorn. During the early part of the day we feel easy going with smiles on our faces. If you must shop spend money on travel or other books that will broaden the mind. Coast late in the day as squabbles and power struggles occur.

October 6 The Sun and Mercury retrograde in Libra are conjunct one another and square Jupiter. A lot of information is bandied about but most of it is of no use. Since Venus is sextile Saturn there will be a sense of obligation to acknowledge those who seem to be in the know. Use caution before making decisions. Most of the information is not worth consideration and should not be used as a basis for a plan.

October 9 Venus, still in Scorpio, is trine Uranus in Pisces. Chance meetings take place and we feel a connection during those encounters. These encounters offer circumstances that give us new understandings about ourselves and life in general.

October 11 Venus in Libra is ninety degrees from Neptune in Aquarius. Attempts to fool us are abundant and many of us are ready to be led astray. Pay attention to what is real and what is a fabrication. Otherwise, dream and meditate your way into bliss.

October 14 The full Moon occurs in Aries at 3:02 pm CDT. This is the peak of the lunar cycle. Many of us will take decisive and in some cases impulsive actions. Fights and arguments are highly possible. Since this full Moon is sixty degrees from Neptune in Aquarius and thirty degrees from Uranus; our sensitivity and compassion can win over fights and fear. Additionally, the Sun is one hundred twenty degrees from Neptune, Chiron, and the north node of the Moon. Walk away from the dark side of your thoughts and pitch in to help with a group effort. Sensitive feelings are most likely the cause of any dissension that occurs. It’s a good day get a psychic reading from Aunt Helen because even the most unlikely people have a high degree of insight. Whenever Uranus is involved we are wise to expect the unexpected. Stay prepared in the days right around this full Moon. Since this full Moon occurs in a fire sign; exhibit caution and respect for earth, wind, fire, and your fellow man.

October 18 Venus enters Sagittarius until November 12. Sagittarius, Aries, and Leo are looking good in the days ahead and most can have their way. Travels abroad or to a unique art exhibit are mind expanding. Adventures will change our outlook on life.

October 21 The Sun, in Libra is sixty degrees from Pluto in Sagittarius. Look beyond what is apparent to find answers. You may just find what you are looking for under the bed.

October 22 The Sun enters Scorpio until November 21. While the Sun is transiting Scorpio our attentions turn toward shared finances and situations. This includes taxes, credit, insurance, and even investments at home and abroad. This can be a time of soul searching for many of us. Scorpio is at one of their peak times of the year and will do well to initiate new projects that are self concerned. Fellow waters signs Cancer and Pisces feel comfortable in their skin while Leo, Taurus, and Aquarius than usual with tasks to perform. That which is hidden is sure to be exposed.

October 26 Mercury in Libra is ninety degrees from Jupiter in Capricorn. This positive transit offers all kinds of chances for growth, expansion, and even travel. The warning is that all are warned against over confidence and over indulgence. Use a bit of logic before going out on any limb. Facts that seemed foggy around the 6th unfold to clarity.

October 28 The new Moon occurs in Scorpio at 6:14 pm CDT. This is the first new Moon we have experienced minus Mercury retrograde since August 30. Now is the time to get started with projects that will transform life and all relationships. Psychological shifts are happening for all of us over the next several weeks as we adjust to election results and financial news.

October 29 Mercury in Libra is one hundred twenty degrees from Neptune in Aquarius. Make time to relax before this day ends. Compassionate discussions and any creative endeavor go well. Leave mundane details for another day.

Libra, Sep 23 - Oct 22
Mercury, retrograde in Libra, has this sign feeling stalled in a whirlwind of opportunities and possibilities. You don’t have all the pertinent information for making decisions until Mercury goes direct October 15. Manage your money and your honeys with care. Joint ventures must be handled with discretion through mid November. Otherwise, Libra is stuck in more than one situation that does not work in their best interest. Scorpio is active pursuing their personal agenda. Now is the time to be the squeaky wheel and seek recognition in order to further your aims. At the same time do your homework and research that which is going on behind the scenes. Time spent alone affords the insight to proceed with right action and resolve. Walk a fine line in order that you do not step on toes and egos; thus sinking your own ship. That steely charm gets Scorpio ahead, but you must not act in vengeful ways. Balance family matters with personal needs. Do not jump at every chance for love as it most likely will be not the best decision now. Sagittarius, Nov 22 - Dec 21
There may be no available reason for your frustration, but the discomfiture is real to Sagittarius. Let this feeling run it course by spending time alone at times when you know you cannot shine in the public eye. Sagittarius is in the final weeks of transformation that began in 1996. Pisces who travel are in for a treat as exciting and new experiences are on the menu. Relations with Mom and Dad hold more than one key to stuff that needs to be fixed. Perhaps writing a letter to those who have passed on will help where family is not available. While the serious theme of the month prevails you can still have fun. Put off the chores you do not want to do and take a run with the dogs. Physical activity gets Cancer out of those doldrums. Opt out of the candle light dinner with honey and get to the back room. Leo, Jul 23 - Aug 22
Home repairs are challenging, but Leo is in need of an update. These physical changes on the outside will hopefully make you feel content on the inside. Family schedules have the house hopping. Communicating effectively is so important if you are going to keep the peace. Siblings, neighbors, and in-laws require that you use kindness; otherwise Leo creates further upsets. Career matters are best handled very carefully. Pitching ideas are not easy or well received by authority figures just now. Give them time to chew on Leo ideas and they will come around to your innovative suggestions. However, you can make great business and financial strides with what you already have in process.
