The Big Picture - Its Just Geometry
Currently we are under the influence of a minor grand trine. If you draw a circle on a piece of paper and add three equidistant points on the circle and then connect them, you have a perfect triangle inside a circle. Keep two of the points, which is called a trine, between two points -- or 120°. If you have a point halfway between those two points, that is called a minor grand trine.
The minor grand trine that we are experiencing involves the two points that are Uranus in Gemini trine Pluto in Aquarius. This is very positive. It supports innovation, freedom, and technological advances to name a few. Uranus in Gemini is changing our communication and Pluto in Aquarius means power to the people. Pluto in Aquarius has brought the power of the news through autonomous people who now report in places like YouTube. These reporters are able to exercise free speech without the influence of CEOs and stockholders.
Halfway between Uranus and Pluto are Saturn and Neptune conjunct in Aries. They are not exactly conjunct and won't be exact until next February. At that time, they will be conjunct at 0° Aries, which has not happened in 4500 years.
So the stage is being set for a relaunch. We will be under this influence until 2028. This minor grand trine is one of the longest configurations of the century. It embodies opportunities for a collective and personal transformation, as well as innovation and societal transformation. We are changing and arousing the old ways and the old people who want to fight against the innovation because they will lose their power. Many will go down with the ship while others will sail into a new reality.
At the onset of this month, on August 1, Venus in Cancer is square the Saturn Neptune conjunction in Aries.
While Venus is square Saturn and Neptune retrograde in Aries, we are tasked with getting past obstacles in our relationships and our finances. There could be bad financial news. Such news shows us what we need to change. Many of us will begin to take action to initiate inventive ways of handling our money and other assets.
Mars and the Minor Grand Trine August 8-10
Mars moves through Libra August 6 to September 22. Mars does not love to be in Libra because Mars is about aggression and Libra is about balance. Mars wants to take action, but Libra says it's gotta be equitable and we don't really like fights. Mars really has an impact in Libra this time around and that impact is Mars creating a diamond shape with the minor grand trine. It looks just like a kite we used to fly as kids. It is triangular shaped within a fourth leg that looks like a diamond. This is really an important time because Mars is triggering Pluto from this place for the first time in 248 years.
This is a powerful time when people will stand up for themselves due to the disruption and new ways that governments, particularly that of the United States, are changing policies. Anywhere in the world where people stand up for themselves, they will be met with opposition. However, those people will not back down, and this could lead to a great confrontation - even civil unrest. Across the world people are making their voices known. Remember, Pluto in Aquarius is power to the people.
The Full Moon August 9, 2:56 am CDT in Aquarius at 17°
The full Moon in Aquarius brings increased awareness of what we the people need. People across the world will be pushing for social reform addressing the need for humanitarian action and human rights. This is a time to release outmoded ideas and groups whose time has passed. Our minds are opening to new possibilities.
At the same time as this full Moon, and even a few days before, Mercury is opposite Pluto. This exposes more shocking secrets and reveals corruption that has been hidden. There will be power struggles as the old guard attempts to hang onto control of power.
These days of August 8-10 may be shocking and world-changing, but the changing world is inevitable at this time in history.
On a mundane note, the full Moon is a terrible time to have surgery. Specifically, this particular full Moon is not a time to have surgery on calves, lower legs, or ankles. This is a really great time, though, to sit with yourself and be open to expanding your awareness and enhancing your clarity.
Venus and the Minor Grand Trine August 25-27
Venus moves through Leo August 25 to September 19. Lucky Leo has charm and magnetism while Venus moves through your sign. Get out and mingle in the world. You are looking good, dear Leo.
During August 25-27 though, Venus is angling all the planets in the minor grand trine. Venus affecting Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto brings us passion and charm in a very positive way. New ideas, creating new partnerships, and influencing society in a positive way are all possible now. More than one woman will come forward with positive solutions to our challenges and challenging people. Those who try to influence with lies will fail because this is such a favorable and honorable aspect. These days are wonderful days.
Mercury
Mercury, retrograde since July 17, goes stationary direct August 11. However, the shadow of Mercury retrograde lasts until August 25. This is the time when Mercury gets back to the point where it originally went retrograde. The shadow period until August 25 can bring up details and schedule changes to be worked out during this time.
In the days between August 14 and 18, Mercury is sextile Mars. A sextile is a productive angle wherein we are quick-witted and able to think on our feet. Many of us will push forward boldly now that Mercury has gone direct.
Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune
Please recall that Saturn and Neptune are almost exactly conjunct in Aries. They are both retrograde, but what is important now is that the positive angles between Saturn and Uranus and Uranus and Neptune is very tight and exact.
The angle of Saturn sextile Uranus is exact August 11. Uranus is exactly sextile Neptune on August 28. Even though these are the exact dates we have been already feeling them. This is an element of the minor grand trine as mentioned before.
During this time, innovation, new ideas, and creativity produce sustainable, logical, and productive foundations for our future. This includes financial systems across the world, humanitarian efforts, and new leaders emerging with logical ideas based on truth.
Just as Saturn is exactly sextile Uranus, August 11, Venus crosses Jupiter in Cancer. This can be one of the best days of the month. This is a joyful time. Cancer is especially magnetic. Many of us will be lucky.
The New Moon August 23 at 1:06 am CDT 0° Virgo
Virgo is a methodical and analytical sign that supports projects that improve our efficiency and attention to details. This new Moon is really great for beginning healthy routines. However, it is not advisable to have surgery on our pancreas, intestines, or general digestive tract around this new Moon.
This new Moon is square Uranus, calling for rapid or sudden change in our routines and how we do our work. Disruption may rule the days during the next few weeks. At the same time, this new Moon forms a close angle to Pluto and Aquarius as well as the Saturn Neptune conjunction in Aries. This configuration is called a yod. A yod pushes us to adapt and resolve conflicts. In years gone by, this astrologer has adopted the old saying that a yod is the fickle finger of fate. This particular new Moon/yod pushes us to open ourselves to insights that are before us. Many of us will be adjusting the boundaries of our comfort zones during this new Moon cycle. Others of us will experience the call of destiny.
Many of us will have experiences that are out of this world with this new Moon.
Next Month - Pluto Out of Bounds
Another dimension of astrology is the fact that planets can be classified as “out of bounds”. When a planet is out of bounds, it is either 23.7° north or south of the equatorial plane. The equatorial plane is the imaginary circle that is drawn along the equator of earth. If that line was extended out into space creating a disc around the Earth you would have a plane--sort of like a record or cd. That plane is at 0° declination because it is 90° from the axis on which the Earth rotates. While planets travel around the Sun in their orbit, they often will go above or below the equatorial plane. Planets that go out of bounds are the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto. Whenever any of these planets are out of bounds, we get an exaggerated experience of their personality and their activity.
Pluto will go out of bounds south for a few months almost every year for the next 10 years. Once that period passes, Pluto will not go out of bounds south for thousands of years. Another way of looking at this is that all of the changes and things that take place in the coming 10 years will probably remain somewhat status quo for thousands of years. Let’s hope we get it right.
When Pluto is out of bounds south, this is a time of revolution, innovation, and the fall of empires. When Pluto is out of bounds north--as it was from 1938 to 1953—dictatorships and authoritarianism rise up and attempt to flourish.
Pluto was last out of bounds south during 1775 to 1796. That was a time of citizens taking charge of their governments and their human rights were expanded.
Pluto will be out of bounds September 11 to November 9. It is very likely that centralized systems and their efficiency will break down and become localized by the people at the grassroots level.
For this astrologer, this is an amazing event. This truly seems to be part of the new dawn. Pluto is the planet of death and rebirth. With that there will be more climate change events such as floods, volcanoes, and earthquakes. Our home planet is changing and we must evolve to survive.
Societal and planetary changes are signs of a great shift in consciousness that humanity will be undergoing in years to come, but don't forget--it's just geometry.

The post shadow is how long Mercury is felt once it goes direct.
It is best to avoid making plans and starting new projects during these times. Make note of the retrograde and shadow periods so that you can avoid important plans and decisions during these time. Travel is be avoided also.

Read the summary with your calendar that shows the whole month on one page. Read through the intro and make note of the days that I point out. Mark the new Moon and the full Moon. The days between the new Moon and the full Moon are when you generally want to start something that you want to grow. Do look at that Moon void chart and take a rest on those days. I have discovered that no matter what I plan, it turns out another way on a Moon void day. Anything you try to accomplish will turn out with unexpected results.
Make note of the three days before the new Moon. People usually get anxious during these days because the phone does not ring or they feel confused or simply nothing is happen. That is because it is wind down time before the new Moon. You will usually notice that the action of life picks up once the new Moon occurs. Also note the days that planets change directions, especially Mercury retrograde.
